Opera 8

It's fairly obvious that the blog has become "Opera-fied." Yes, Opera 8 has been released and I've become a sort of Opera evangelist. No, I'm not preaching fire and brimstone. I'm preaching open web standards and a fast, secure web browser that does its job very well.

I posted a review of Opera 7.5 last year (see this post) and my impressions have not changed much. Opera is still awesome and with the 8.0 release even more so. I was a beta tester for Opera 8 since the very first public release and I'm very proud of how far its come since then (and since 7.54u, the last "stable" version).

Of course I'd love to write a more detailed review, and I shall, but 24 will be on in less than 10 minutes and I do have my priorities.

In the meantime, it is my duty to encourage each and every reader to click on one of my three buttons/banners and try Opera out. If you don't want to pay for it, don't worry - choose the unobtrusive Google text ad and you've got a free browser. If you like it, buy it and help them to continue innovating.
